Randomness

So, I have several things that I need to catch up on. Jeepers!

1) On my sidebar, I have a little paragraph telling what my blog is about. One of the things listed was "visits to the dentist." It's been ages since I've actually talked about that. Well, here we go... Erica had her first dentist visit! It was so cute. My girl was so brave! Andrew had his appointment, so I took Erica along. She got to watch him have his teeth brushed and she sat on his lap so that she could have hers done. She chose orange-flavored toothpaste and got to wear sunglasses. She kept her mouth open the whole time! The dentist tried VERY hard to explain the importance of letting us brush her teeth at home. I thought it would lead to a huge improvement. ... Not so much.

2) Erica had her 3 year check-up last Friday. I swear, her pediatrition doesn't like kids! He was in and out within 3 minutes!!! Now, before you lecture me on finding a better doctor, let me explain that he is not her normal doctor. Its a practice of 3 different people, and her doctor was out for the day. [She had been scheduled to go in Monday, but I totally forgot about it! So I had to reschedule last minute.]

3) We've been getting LOTS of books from the library about Easter. Cute ones, like Hello Kitty, Care Bears, Winnie the Pooh. And some religious themed ones. We've been doing all sorts of preparing for the holiday. Totally slipped my mind though to do Easter Eggs! So we did that today. I found a neat idea in Parents Magazine-- put colored tissue paper in a cup and fill it with hot water; set the egg inside it, and the dye will color the egg. I thought it was a great idea, b/c Erica could help w/o burning her little fingers. She was able to stuff the tissue paper in, and also spoon the eggs into the cups. Unfortunately, not all of the colors worked. Pink and Purple were the best. I was surprised that blue and red didn't work too well.

4) I've gotten out of my reading-kick and into a movie-kick. I've been getting TONS of movies out from the library. Some highlights: Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium. A good movie for Erica and me to watch together. Things We Lost in the Fire, with Halle Berry. Its such an emotional movie, but in a good way. 30 Days of Night... can't believe I'm admitting that. It was icky, but good. I did get Beowulf, though didn't watch it yet.

5) I'm SO tired all the time. Its awful. I need to get to the doctor and say "Give me a B12 shot now!" Not sure if it'll actually happen though.

6) Speaking of doctors... I think I need to go to my dermatologist again. [I'd had a melanoma removed from my arm sometime July '05.] Well, I have a new 'thing' on my back. I waited over a week now to see if it would go away, but its staying. And looks an awful lot like a mole. I know for positive that its new; it was never there before. [Awhile ago, I had a "scare" about one on my jawline... but looking through pictures proved that I've had it awhile.] I'm trying not to worry. Its probably nothing. But I tend to really get melodramatic about these things and expect the worse. "Oh no, the cancer has spread through my whole body and I only have six months to live!" No, no, no, no. I need to tell myself not to worry.

7) Erica has swim class starting up tomorrow. I'm excited. Unfortunately, we didn't get into the same class as her other little friends. But it will still be good. Its been awhile since we did this before, so it will be exciting to do again.

8) I will end with a shout-out to all the preggies out there. I know several pregnant chicks right now. Both of my SILs. My neighbor. College roomate and fellow blogger, Debbie. And another fellow Blogger, Crazy Working Mom. [Sorry if I missed any others!] And also... I'm normally not a huge celebrity follower. But babies make me happy, so congrats to all the pregnant celebs out there! [As I hear, J.Lo just had her twins.] I'm most excited for Nicole Kidman. I've always hated Tom Cruise ever since he left her. So I'm so happy now that she's finally got a new Hubby and is having a baby.

Saw your comment about Blues Clues over at BURGH BABY and had to come say hi!

My sister in law was the executive producer for that show and came up with the kids screaming out answers idea!

We loved Magical Emporium too. We never got around to coloring eggs this year because no one else in the house other than me eats hard boiled eggs. Our favorite Easter book this year was T-Rex Is The Easter Bunny. My 3 year old found it in the library and cried when we had to take it back.

If you are going on a movie kick, put August Rush on your list - probably my favorite this year so far!

Um hunny, in regards to number 5... it's called YOU HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD. I swear as soon as Reagan hit 3, I did the SAME thing! Now that he is like 3 1/3 it is getting better.

I tell you - BRACE YOURSELF FOR 3! It's rough at first. But it does get better!! :o)
