?? Wi-Fi ??

I feel pretty, oh so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and bright!

So, if you can't tell, I'm feeling pretty tonight. My hair is fabulous! I don't know if I blogged about this before, but I finally found the PERFECT hairdresser. Really, she's perfect. I've never really 'loved' my haircuts before. They were okay, and sufficed for what I wanted. I'd always go somewhere different though; never stuck to the same place b/c I figured they'd all be the same. THEN, I found this lady. Fantastic! My hair curls better than it ever has before, and its so easy to do. Anyway, so tonight my hair is great. All I did was wash it, put in some gel, and blow dry it. How easy is that?!?!

Why did I get all prettied-up?

My local kids' club started up again, and I'm helping out. [No, that's not why; I may be vain sometimes, but I wouldn't get pretty just for a bunch of kids.] It was a lot of fun last year, and I'm excited for this year too.

My plan for tonight, though, included going out to Barnes and Noble afterwards. Golly, am I glad I brought a change of clothes! First of all, because I had to wear my 'club shirt' so that parents and kids would know that I'm a leader. And in addition, it was SOOOOO hot in that place! Not air conditioned. And add to that 70+ kids running around and playing games. [Tonight, b/c its the first night, was game night.]

Anyway, I had originally planned to go to Barnes on Friday night. But, I figured that it would make more sense and be better for Hubby if I just went tonight; then we could all be together Friday. I really needed the break anyway. Today was a terribly emotional day. Not like a "woe is me" emotional; but b/c I've been working through my teaching material [see previous post] and its a lot of heavy-duty stuff. Its been saddening-- and frustrating-- to see how I've allowed the hurts from my childhood to affect my present life. There are so many things I do to my husband b/c of it... and that's a very sad thought for me.

Add to that the fact that Erica has decided to re-visit her Terrible Twos. Yes, indeed she has. Last week I just chalked her behavior up to the full moon. But that is long passed, and she's still throwing big temper tantrums. My thought on it is this: she's testing her limits. She's trying to see whether or not she'll get her way if she cries and screams long enough. Truly, I think that's what she's doing. And if Hubby or I give in just once, she'll do it more and more.

WOW, I'VE REALLY RABBIT-TRAILED!

When I went to B&N, I took my laptop. Wow, have I been spoiled by this baby! I love it. Well, I wanted to try using Wi-Fi. I was so excited. My excitement soon faded. It took me near-about 1 hour to figure out how to connect. Even now, I'm not sure how I did it. I just clicked from one help menu to another.

I was about to sing the Hallelujah Chorus when I got it up and running... only to be thwarted again. They were going to make me pay for it! What? I thought Wi-Fi stood for "Wireless Free Internet." So I was so confused and mad that I was gonna have to pay. Seriously! I spent an hour on this process! And it used up a good portion of my laptop's battery, so I didn't get to work on writing my book for very long. [Good news on that front though: I'm FINALLY to the good point of the book; where the plot REALLY takes off.]

So, upon arriving home, I hooked up my beloved laptop to recharge and headed to Wikipedia to look up Wi-Fi. I receive another surprise: It means Wireless Fidelity. What? How in the world would I ever have guessed that?

Right now, I'm feeling rather stupid about it. Oh well.

Try Starbucks, they have free Wifi. Not usually too bad of an environment either as long as you don't get distracted by the machines going off.

I am very excited that your are writing a book and I know just how hard it is to find the time when there are small children around. Small children who ALWAYS NEED us for something!! If you have it in you, then you'll find the time and YOU WILL write that great american novel!!!! Good Luck :)

It's often hit or miss getting a connection through a lap top. Good luck on the book!
