Belated Birthday

Finally, I'm adding pictures from Erica's birthday party [March 9th! quite awhile ago].

As I'm writing this, i'm feeling a bit "under the weather." So, unfortunately I wont be writing too much. I'll try though...

The party was at my parents' house. It was more central for other family members than to have them all come to our house, especially since it was a friday night. it kinda had a "strawberry shortcake" theme. The plates/napkins/cups had her on them, i had little gift bags for the kids w/ coloring pages inside of her, we had a little balloon of her.

and the cake was strawberry shortcake. Andrew picked it out-- it was quite the cake! On top of it, there were figurines of strawberry, ginger snap, and angel cake, along w/ strawberry's "house," which can open up to store the girls. Erica loves it. Really neat.

She also had a giant cookie-- thats what we put the candle in for
her to blow out. The cake was too crowded to add a candle. I was proud of her-- she blew out the candle on the 1st try.

She and her cousins didnt really eat much of their dessert-- there was so much yummy food for dinner. I had brought erica's little table so the kids could sit there... i'm glad i did.

Erica did a good job opening her presents. Not like last year, when she could hardly do any of it herself. she's so cute opening gifts-- she ooh's and aah's over everything. this last picture is erica w/ a blanket that her aunt made for her her. she sleeps with it every night now.

Sounds like a great party. It's funny I remember my sister being really into Strawberry Shortcake when she was little -- btw she's now 32 I guess the old saying 'what's old is new again' rings true huh?

mama-- yeah, lots of stuff is coming back. I have a theory: those who grew up w/ these things now have jobs in marketing/etc and are trying to bring back things that they loved as kids

'liya-- yeah, she really is talented. i would love to be able to sew like that.

Awww...so sweet! :)
We did SS for my little girl's 4th birthday (in November). She loved it. It's so funny, 'cause I LOVED SS when I was a girl.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!
