bedtime undressing

lately, when erica goes in her crib to sleep [at night or for a nap], she likes to take off her clothes. i can think of possibly two reasons why she does it...

1) she likes learning new things and being independent, so she's trying to learn how to change her clothes by herself. [she also tries putting pants and socks on by herself.]
2) she thinks that if she does that instead of sleeping, i'll come in and get her.

See, she's hardly ever successful in her endeavors. she can always get her socks off, thats not hard. but then she tries her shirt. Erica cant figure out how to get the sleeves off. She pulls the bottom part of the front of her shirt, and gets it up over her head. since she cant get the sleeves off, her arms are stuck in and the shirt gets stuck behind her head. Not really comfortable. So, she starts crying even more.

Last night, she wasnt falling asleep. [i was gone from 6-8:30, and andrew later informed me that she was hyper from all the CAKE he fed her.] Anyway, she wasnt crying or anything. Just making noise, talking and singing to herself. Well, i went in to check on her at 10, after she'd been asleep for awhile. And wouldnt you know-- she'd taken her pajamas COMPLETELY off and threw them into her laundry basket.

good grief.
