Strawberry Shortcake

[Just an update: i'm still feeling crappy. I should lay down again. But i just paid all the bills, and now am trying to get some other stuff done. Anyway, i was at the doctor. I have a major ear infection, which is throwing off my sense of balance. My blood was taken again, to see if my low iron is contributing to it also. (no results on that yet.) so, i have medicine to help w/ the infection. And "dizzy pills." I'm supposed to take them when i feel dizzy. But get this... they make you sleepy. hmm... Which is worse?]


We now have three Strawberry Shortcake DVD's. "Dress Up Days." This was the first that we got. They put on a play, acting out Cinderella. Its incredibly cute. [More on that later.]

Then we picked up "Berry Fairy Tales." They meet two different little fairies and try to help them. Its okay, but not the best.

Then we got "Best Pets Yet." It is SOOOO cute. Its the story of how Strawberry found her pet dog, "Pupcake." At first, her cat "Custard" didnt like the dog, but they ended up best friends. Then, a mean little girl named "Pepermint Fizz" decided that her pet was better than everyone elses. So, she held a talent show, but sabatoged everyone else. She was quite mean, but everyone found out that she was cheating, and in the end everyone realized that all the pets are special.

It made me go, hmm... Because a little while ago, erica and i got a tape from the library that was a very OLD strawberry shortcake movie. In it, there was a pet parade and talent show, but the mean/wicked "purple pie man" was sabotoging everything. Quite the same, isnt it? But i like the new version better... mainly because Strawberry and her friends look so much cooler than they used to. [but, the old version will always hold a place in my heart, because thats what i watched as a girl.]

SO... here are some lyrics to the song in "Dress up Days," where they act out cinderella. I'll end with this. I love it, b/c it makes me feel special. Every girl is special, even if she thinks she looks bad.

If my clothes were nice, not just nice but clean. If my shoes were polished, like you've never seen. Would i be as happy as a shining gem? Cuz the world would see me as i really am.

If i glitter, would i be as good as gold? If i sparkle, wouldnt i feel bold? But that side of me would never hide the pretty me thats left inside, if i glitter...

I can see myself with no cares at all, cuz i'm all done up and going to the ball. Put on my fancy gown, the moonlight shines and grins. Till i catch the eye of the handsome prince.

If i glitter, then i'll get to dance. If i sparkle, then i'll have a chance. Now my outside shows whats in my heart , just the little me who's about to start... If i glitter. If i glitter...
