Short (SHORT) stories

Wow, I haven't posted since May! YIKES!

Well, I'm freaking out over what to do when I grow up. (Well, technically, when Erica grows up.) When Kindergarten started, I really started freaking out majorly.

Nothing seems quite right. I had thought of a few choices: Finish my fiction book since I already have it half done); publish children's Bible curriculum; write short devotionals for publications like "Daily Bread."

Well, nothing seemed to quite fit, didnt seem quite right. Even though I really want to right my novel, I agree w/ Andrew's assessment that I should start small and work up to that.

WITH ALL OF THIS SAID... I of course am in love with the Disney Fairies. I love me some Tinker Bell. Ask me anything and I would have the answer for you w/o even hesitating. Also... I know lots about Erica's other character movies and toys (ex: my little pony, strawberry shortcake).

So an idea came to me the other day. Andrew wants me to start small... What about writing something for a kid's magazine?!? There's an entire magazine dedicated to the Disney fairies. Another one, named "Sparkle Magazine" that has lots of characters involve, like My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake.

WITH ALL OF THIS SAID... I'm going to try my hand at short stories. But before I can get serious about a real story/article, I need to freshen up on my craft.

So with my blog now, I'm going to be writing little short stories. Really short. And my daughter will be my editor! Hehehe. Not really editor, but I'll read them to her and if she understands and likes it, I know I'm going in the right direction.

If anyone actually reads my blog anymore, you could help by giving me three things. That's how we come up with stories at home. I give Erica three things and she has to make a story with those things. And she'll do the same to me. The three things can be totally random, which makes for a really interesting story.

I think this is a really good idea for you! I hope you will get some good success out of it.

Hmmm... three things... a little boy named Charlie, a turtle, and chocolate bar.
