very distracted

I've been very distracted lately. Hence, my little hiatus from blogging. Our baltimore trip was last Monday and I still have not gotten pictures posted. That's my goal for today... or tomorrow.

Anyway, after our trip to the aquarium, we got Finding Nemo out from the library. Erica's been loving seeing the fish and other animals and saying "I saw them!" Quite cute.

Unfortunately, the girl has lost it somewhere in this house. You'd think it would be easy to find... but I still can't locate it. Its due back tomorrow; I'm in big trouble if I can't find it. I do NOT want to get on the librarians' bad side, since I go there all the time. If we can't find it, I'm gonna tell Erica that we're not getting any movies out again.

That gives me an idea... maybe this afternoon/night, I'll tell her she can't watch TV until she finds it. That should motivate her. She always likes to watch something while I'm making dinner. Hmm, I'll have to try that out.

UPDATE:
We did find the movie-- THANK GOODNESS! When I came with Erica to the library today [Tuesday] to return it, I saw the oddest thing: An amish man talking on a cell phone and typing away on his laptop computer. Hmm... can't quite fathom that one.

Oh man, libraries.. I had a bad experience this year.. lost the Romeo and Juliet DVD I had taken out from the public library for school and had to pay quite a big fine. My students offered to each pay some but at the time I felt it was my responsibility so I paid it myself.. now I kinda wish I had gotten them to chip in! .. it was $50.00 :S

Yup, that's why I prefer to rent from a video store. Sure I have to pay for the rental, but when I lose the movie, I can manage to talk my way out of paying for it or at least just replace it without them noticing. The librarians? Nothing gets past them. They'll kick your butt every time.

Ah, I rent DVDs from a rental store and once I returned a movie 2 days late but he didn't charge any late fee!

An Amish man with a laptop, huh? Thats funny! :)

'liya- FIFTY! Wow, thats a lot.

Burgh baby's mom- For all the movies we get for free, it is very worthwhile. If we had really lost it, the fine probably wouldn't even be the same as what renting them all would have been. But, yeah, I wouldnt want the librarians to kick my butt. I'm thinking about getting a job there sometime when Erica goes to preschool / regular school.

corrine- yes, it was very funny. Though, it kinda made me a bit upset. Not MAD, but when you've been snubbed over and over by amish and old-order-mennonite for being 'worldly,' its annoying to see one of them being 'worldly' too.

raj- no late fee? Wow, thats awesome.
