Prison Break
My daughter decided to make a break for it... Meaning, from her bedroom.
She woke up around 4 AM Monday morning; I heard her cry to get out, pound on her door, and then she just quieted down again. I figured she just went back to bed, realizing her efforts were in vain. Andrew kept insisting she must have gotten out of her room, but I didn't really hear anything, and I figured that if she'd gotten out, the first thing she'd do would be run into our room to climb up in bed with us.
Well, after ten minutes or so Andrew got up to look... SHE WAS GOING UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS! I followed her downstairs... Here, she'd been taking trips up and down, taking all of her bed time things down to the couches in the living room. Her pillows, blankets, animals, dolls. Its amazing that she didn't fall!
She screamed about going back into her room, so we just took her in with us. It would have been pointless to lock her in her room again, b/c she knows now how to get off the door knob cover.
[I've since put another one on, and she hasn't gotten thru that one yet.]

Oh, I feel ya'. I have learned it is pointless, in our case, to try to contain the Toddler. She's better off roaming the house than she is screaming, pounding on the walls, and generally freaking out that no one is around.
She takes off the doorknob cover?! Good grief, toddlers are way too smart nowadays.
My daughter does that too!!! ah! It stinks when they figure that stuff out! Happy belated v-day to you too!

Mine gets into everything...and I do mean everything.
Oh, yes the prison break. I remember it well. Mine always tried to go outside, as in outside outside. We kept having to get new locks on the front door. By the time we actually moved the real estate agent was like, people are going to think that this is a bad neighborhood with all of those locks you have on the door.
We have two toddlers that share a room and about two weeks ago, I'd had it with their nighttime roaming (than and Mikalyn liked to go outside!). We turned their cribs-changed-into-toddler-beds around and they face the walls now. I know someday I'm going to have to flip them around again, but hearing the outside door chime at 2 am is not going to work for us!
