Make-Up Monday has been thwarted!

Yes, thwarted.

If you don't know/remember, make-up Monday isn't a day that I talk all about mascara and lipstick. Its when I make-up after being absent from the blogging-world over the weekend. I visit all of the blogs I read and then do my own updated post.

I was in the middle of checking things out. Even got to most of the blogs. But now I can't open up the webpage where all the links are listed. So... I'm sorry if I missed anyone's blog. I'll try to get to it ASAP.

Now, to me--

Guess what we got on Saturday? Guess, guess! Okay, I'll tell you. A NEW CAR! Yippee! We actually had been to the car dealership Tuesday already to pick out the car and all. Tuesday night Andrew couldn't sleep b/c he was so scared about the $$$ commitment.

Its a 2008 Ford Escape. Erica calls it our Kermit the Frog car. Let me explain... They had a poster of Kermit standing next to a green escape hybrid. And the little logo was "A new kind of green." We did think about the Hybrid, but it was just too expensive. So, we got the regular Escape, but in the green color. [The accompanying picture isn't the same we saw, but its all I could find online.]

The thing is a BEAST! [Not in a bad way.] Its so big. Not at all like my dinky little Plymouth Neon. Erica really has to squirm to climb up in it, and I'm afraid to wear a skirt while getting in! Okay, its not that high. But still, its quite different to drive. But I'm getting the hang of it.

Oh, Oh, Oh! And as an added bonus, we get Sirius Satellite Radio free for a year! How excellent is that?!?!? I've already found my favorite. Chanel nine: The Pulse, hits from the 90's and Now.

Okay, I need to stop gloating now.

How about a downer? Erica is now sick as well. I'm getting over my cold, and she's just starting hers. She's not really grouchy at all. [Unlike me, who wanted to curl up in a hole and die.] Just a bit blaise. And a bit clingy. But, SHE'S SO CUTE when she talks. Her little nasally voice is adorable. I'm afraid she's gonna lose her voice though; she keeps talking, singing, crying, screaming, and all that other 2 year old stuff.

THE WORST PART though, is that she keeps licking her lips... and she's getting nasty chapped areas around her mouth. I gave her her very own tube of chapstick, hoping to coerce her into using that instead of licking her lips. Before bed tonight, I put Vaseline around her mouth and nose. I know I'm vain, but I don't want my daughter walking around in public with a chapped mouth. I think it looks icky.

But, then again, she's only 2 & 1/2

Getting a new car is always fun! You deserve it after all the crap your Neon put ya thru! ;o) Our next door neighbors recently got the same car as you.

Thanks for the comment on my blog before things went awry for ya. :)

Both of my children have a horrible obsession with chapstick!

silver- thanks!

corinne- I'm always excited to make new blogger-friends

becky, mom, mommy, hey you- good luck w/ your car search

toni- Yeah, the payment part will be a pain. No more "retail therapy" for me.

clairissa- ACTUALLY, we still have the neon. Andrew's truck died. So we had to get rid of that one instead. So now I'm praying and hoping that the Neon doesnt break down again.

crazy working mom- Well... I have an obsession with chapstick myself. I start to go crazy if I don't have any. That, and hand lotion.
