Ready or not, here we come!

Yesterday was horrid. I'm not sure how much time I have to type; I'm just waiting here at home until my parents come to get us. But I'll try to tell the story...

I had so much packing to do, but decided to go out to get a few things. First I went to a local amish/mennonite produce stand. The fruit/veges are good and not as expensive as in grocery stores. Anyway, I picked up an assortment of fruits for vacation. Apples, watermelon, cantaloupes, peaches, grapes, bananas...

I loaded it up in the car and then headed for Green Dragon. Big mistake. Especially considering: all I wanted was clip-on sunglasses. [My glasses' lenses are so small that I wasn't able to find any elsewhere. And I knew that you can find anything at G.D.]

I don't know what the deal was... but the place was PACKED! All these people from New York, Maryland, New Jersey, etc. Why are they coming to Lancaster County & visiting GD? Its pretty lame as just a tourist stop. Anyway. The traffic was backed up to a spot that was probably just 5 minutes normal-time to the place. Do you know how long it took me to get there?

FORTY-FIVE MINUTES!

That's right. 45. I could have turned around. True. But there was limited access to turn-around spots. And I kept telling myself: It can't possibly take that much longer. Well, I got a good view of the scenery: cows and cornfields.

Poor Erica was getting so hungry. Okay, so was I. Fortunately [though unfortunate for the vacation], we had the fruit in the car still. Erica enjoyed an apple while I ate a peach. Finally I told her just to fall asleep. She got a 20 minute nap.

And my gas was running out. It was falling at a very rapid rate. I was so scared we'd get stranded out there! Oh, how awful.

In case you're wondering by this point: I did find a pair of sunglasses. I would have been SO MAD if I hadn't. I also bought us lunch there; it was already so late and I knew it would take long to get home.

Do you like my Zwinky's swimsuit? I think its really cute. I wish I had one like it! But I'm cheap and don't like to spend tons of money on swimsuits; I stick mainly to Target.

Well, adios! Talk to y'all later!

A few years ago a friend and I visited the Green Dragon while we were at a Groomers Expo in Harrisburg. I really enjoyed the place and if I had had extra money I would have be getting a few pieces of some great Amish crafted furniture.

Hope you have a great vacation.
