Lessons learned

i feel so sick to my stomach right now. its a bit disconcerting...

ANYWAY, my reason for posting... Last monday thru friday i was a counselor at a kids' day camp. it was so much fun, but i must say it was exhausting. And i learned a valuable lesson...

I'm SO GLAD that i'm a stay-at-home mommy. Mommyhood is so special, and i'm so glad that i can be at home with my little Erica.

There are several things that made me realize this:
1) I just plain-old missed her during the days.
2) It is so hectic getting myself and my daughter ready in the mornings, driving her to her sitters, going to the camp, going back for her, then coming home and trying to figure out quickly what to do for dinner. There was so much driving-- it was driving me nuts.
3) Erica was so cranky from it. she didnt get her morning naps and it just really messed her up. she had a blast when she was actually with the other kids, but when the day was over she was pooped. I was thinking that she could handle it; i was thinking that this would be just what she needed to get from two naps to one nap a day. but she's just not ready for it. She needs her sleep still. Once or twice a week she can do without two in a day, but she cant handle it every day. its too hard on her.

So today we're taking it easy. we played inside for most of the morning. Then we went outside for half-an-hour or so. we watered the plants-- erica really likes helping with that. then we picked some zucchini and tomatoes. i'm SO GLAD that erica likes tomatoes, b/c we have SOOO many of them. actually, this is cute-- i picked a small tomatoe and gave it to erica. she ate the whole thing, just taking bites out of it like you would an apple. she made a bit of a mess though-- seeds all down her chin. but it was cute. she probably wont need a big lunch now. thats ok with me though; i'm feeling so ill to my tummy that i dont feel like cooking/eating.

i think i've discovered the reason for my tummyache... i took my vitamins last night and this morning for the first time in a week. [in the chaos of last week, i kept forgetting to take my vitamins.] anyway, i think the sudden shock of them-- especially the iron-- made me feel queezy.
